On 13 May 2008 the Australian Government announced the review of Australia's tax system. To read more about this initiative for the new tax system and a good overview of the existing tax system, visit Australia's future tax system web site (link).

More details on withholding tax for non-residents in an article on the blog
Added link to a library at Internet.com with free IT ebooks.

Added section on Google Apps web hosting with Java and JavaScript development with Web Toolkit. Also added the section on Server-Side JavaScript and link to AppJet. Links on the page are to the relevant articles on the blog because there are many short articles that are more suited for a blog, while web pages will serve to organize material into meaningful groups and topics.
I have just implemented operations with cookies on this page. Now, the page remembers which chart was set last and displays it when a user comes back to the Currency page. Initially, 1-year chart will be displayed and, after that, the page will remember the last chart you were looking at.
My first Google Web Toolkit application has been deployed. AJAX buttons on the lower currency chart allow changing the time period displayed. Check it out. It looks really neat.
EURAUD chart available below for different periods
A new application has been deployed. This time it is VanguardPrices. I have finally implemented the engine in Java instead of Python. Found out a good XML parsing library and figured out how to use it. Now the Java version retrieves the page and parses out the current price.
There is also a sample of UI, using Google Web Toolkit. It is a default page but I have created the structure of folders and files by hand. Now what is left is to utilize the calendar and other UI elements for interaction with users.
Overall, I’m very happy with Google frameworks and plugins for Eclipse…
Homepage, together with other sites - Images and IT, has been converted to Java. Contact form was the only thing that needed to be reprogrammed and it is an integral part as it is used from across all the other sites. Now it is complete and allows for further expansion of content.
Finance site ported to Java! GoogleApps now support Java and I have registered for Beta use of Java in AppSpot. I have just ported Alen’s Finance Pages to Java project and completed upload to Google servers. There are no visible changes but now it is much more easier to add active content.
I should be adding content soon, like storage of data, displaying of charts, etc. It is a milestone in free web development. Thanks, Google!
Changed the style of the header box. The background is now a photo of money bills and the title is displayed on a semi-transparent background over the image.
Updated styles on Finance site. H6 tag is now a separator with a graphical background. See an example on this page.
Also added a small envelope icon to the Contact link across all the sites.
